CAN WE BECOME JOURNALIST


Let's call the media as the third view of eye. This cloud zone is not for lazy people because it is not a time bounded job. There is a specialty that one who studies any subject can join these courses. There are many specializations like politics, sports, commerce, fashion, cinema, culture, finance, investment, travel, women and children etc. Specialization is also possible by photography, cinematography, Internet, printing, visual media, advertising, etc. depending on the medium and our attitude.

There are opportunities to act as freelance journalist in addition to the opportunities in the private and government zones. With the addition of journalism as a topic from the Plus Two level, there are a lot of teaching opportunities. Care must be taken when choosing courses and institutions. In additions to our tastes, we must also consider the current relevance.

Study in Graduate Level

In most universities in Kerala, we can study journalism in Graduate level. In addition to the traditional courses like BA journalism and BA communications New-media studies are also available. They also have the opportunity to learn with Malayalam and English as well as political science. Those who have completed plus two in any subjects can join these courses.

Study in Postgraduate Level

Post-graduate studies in journalism and communications courses are available in various university departments and affiliated colleges in Kerala. The basic qualification is graduation. Many institutes will have an entrance test. The duration of the course is two years. There is an opportunity for taking a research degree too. In addition to these courses, press clubs are conducting PG Diploma and Certificate Courses.  Degree is the basic qualification.

New Delhi-based Indian Institute of Mass Communication is the nation's largest institution in journalism. There are also a number of notable institutions at the national level.
