Fishery
industry is very important in our country having 8000 km of coastal area and
many rivers. So, fisheries science offers a lot of employment opportunities. If
you are willing to work in a lonely environment and time to get acquainted with
challenges in different climatic conditions and challenging situations, then
you're going to feel like this zone.
There
are sub divisions like Fish Genetics, Biotechnology, Aquaculture Technology and
Fisheries Economics.
Courses
BSc
(Fisheries) or BFSc are the degree level courses. One is having Plus Two with
Physics, Biology and Chemistry can join the degree courses. Candidates with a
degree in Fishery or Zoology can apply for MFSc. Indian Council of Agricultural
Research is conducting the All India Entrance Examination for the post graduate
courses. Post Graduate Diploma in Inland Fisheries and Management can be done
for those with zoology or fishery degree.
The
multi-tasking zone having a great importance in research and management has
plenty of employment opportunities even outside India.
